American Sailing 101 Basic Keelboat (Beginner/Novice Course)

This introductory sailing course is designed to give students a broad but thorough introduction to sailing.

This course offers students classroom instruction and on-the-water instruction. Students commit to two consecutive initial full days of classroom and on-the-water instruction with four additional half-days of instruction. This course allows students to become American Sailing certified. Students have the option to take their written and practical certification exams at any time.

SOUL Sailing students may select from any available 3-Hour Sailing Lesson to schedule their four half-day lessons allowing much greater flexibility in scheduling their instructional time. We strongly encourage students to complete the course hours within four weeks of their initial class.

Minimum of 2 registered students to hold the course. Maximum of 4 registered students. The course fee includes all classroom materials. Students may opt to register with American Sailing following certification. 

American Sailing 103 Coastal Cruising (prerequisite 101)

Course Fee $759 per person. Join the waitlist!

Expand your sailboat terminology, learn basic boat systems, auxiliary engine operation, docking procedures, intermediate sail trim, navigation rules, basic coastal navigation, anchoring, weather, safety and seamanship. ASA 103 takes place over 3 consecutive days with testing on the third course day.

Minimum of 2 registered students to hold the course. Maximum of 4 registered students. The course fee includes all classroom materials. Students may opt to register with American Sailing following certification.

3-Hour Sailing Lesson (All Skill Levels Welcome)

Lesson Fee $99 – $189 per person. 

This option is designed to allow sailors of all levels a chance to get out on the water. Whether you’ve never sailed or it’s been a while, this half-day on-the-water lesson gets students engaged and actively sailing.

Offered as Open (anyone can join) or Private (only your booking party) from June – October.

Minimum of 2 registered students per lesson. Maximum of 4 registered students per lesson.

Individual Private Lessons

This option allows the student to tailor the lessons to meet his or her individual needs. Through private lessons, SOUL Sailing will create an individualized package of lessons structured with the student’s goals in mind.
